Gilbert Gottfried's Post-Aflac Firing Apology

Getting himself into a bit of a controversial situation, Gilbert Gottfried made a public announcement to apologize for posting jokes about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan on Twitter.

A day after losing his job as the voice of the Aflac duck as a result of his inappropriate postings, the Problem Child actor said, "I sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended by my attempt at humor regarding the tragedy in Japan."

He continued, I meant no disrespect, and my thoughts are with the victims and their families.

This isnt the first time Gottfried joked about a tragedy. Three weeks after the September 11 terrorist attacks, he ribbed that he tried to get a direct flight into New York "but they said they have to stop at the Empire State Building first."
